Hello, I've done a fair amount of searching and it seems that anything 68 and on works. Specifically I'm thinking about replacing my D200 225 (3 speed man tran) with an 80"s variety Slant with hydraulic lifters. I think the answer is it'll work. But I'm looking for some confirmation. Thanks for any input. |

You should be fine so long as the flywheel and crankshaft have the large pilot diameter. You will need to sway oil pans and pickup tubes. |

The change happened for the 1968 model year so you should be fine unless your original engine was a leftover from '67. The only way to know for certain is to pull the clutch and measure the flywheel center hole. The measurement can be found in the articles section. |
