I am wondering if there is either a different alt I can purchase or a better designed set of brackets avail to mount my alt. Problem is removing the # 1 plug, its a pain in the knads cause its hidden behind the alt. I can get the socket on it without touching the alt but again its just not easy.

Any suggestions?

If you have the room on the D/S that is a great option and really opens up the passengers side to get to everything.

Also may try the smaller style alternator and a little longer belt to move it out just a bit.

try using a universal joint on your socket and extension; works fine reaching in behind my seventies vintage square back alternator.
