I bought some 2000 Sebring convertible seats with the integrated shoulder belts. I took my front seat out just to check fitment and I was surprised to see that the driver side floor between the door and the center hump is way wider than the passenger side (like at least a couple inches). The seats will fit, but there's much more room on the driver side than the passenger side.

Has anyone done the Sebring conversion for an A-body? Any tips? Here is a link to the Corvair conversion.

Very helpful to see how you mounted them. Did you have equal room in your older Dart on each side? My '67 is narrower on the passenger side floor, so the mounting will be different on each side...bummer.

and a nice looking Valiant too! I like the color. My '67 dart was that awful dark forest green metallic color (now it's just gray primer)...I thought for the new paint I'd stay with metallic green, but make it a nice teal or turquoise...looks great on your Valiant.

My last slant six, many years ago, was a '70 Valiant. I sold it and regretted it ever since...that's why I was so happy to pick up my Dart a few years back.

I have them in my 64 Valiant - smaller than your car. Make sure to build strong mounts to handle forces from the seat belts if there is a crash.

Yes, I will definitely over do it on the seat mounts, super strong for sure.

I never realized the floor pan was wider on the driver side than the passenger side, really bums me out. I always thought the Dart was symmetric in that respect. Is it opposite for Aussie cars?

BUT, the fact that the '64 Valiant has less room, and you did it inspires me to push on. I got some really nice charcoal leather seats for $200 including the module out of an older Sebring. I went through the wires today, got that all cleaned up.

I would love it if you could PM me some pics of how close your seats come to the doors, the center, height, just general fitment shots.

Will try to get pics, but I'm pretty terrible about that. My pass seat comes right about flush with the B pillar (4 door sedan). I have not felt cramped at all driving or riding in the car.

Aussie cars are not nice for them - same pan as ours so narrower on the driver side for them. Makes sense to me to have more room for the driver and offset the drivetrain to the pass side to get the weight of the driver balanced a bit.
