Today, I tossed my original '63 9" used front drums in the recycle bin. But not before I yanked off the large anti-squeak springs which circled the outside of the drum.

Noticed when I removed them that there was a built-in 'groove' on the drum surface to accept this spring. Don't think the new drums have these - do they?

Thought it might be wise to save the anti-squeak springs. Never know when you need parts that are no longer available.

Are new drums made to accept these anti-squeak springs or is it considered outmoded-technology?
