I have a 71 dart with 9" drums front. Just a few days ago i noticed that my right wheel/wheel area makes a knocking sound when i turn left. It will only do it when i accelerate at a moderate to high amount from a stop sign (going left) and will continue for about 5-50 feet after i straighten out, depending on how hard i'm accelerating. It will make 1 knock per wheel revolution. It was doing this about a year ago and when i replaced the control arm bushings and had it aligned, i didn't notice it anymore. Could this be a wheel bearing or something else?

Check brake shoe placement & attachment hardware, and inner & outer wheel baring for play and or damage.

To check wheel baring, remove clean grease from rollers or balls and races; look for discoloring, scoring, and galling of surfaces. If any of the listed problems are found replace the baring.

Follow FSM for baring install and torque specifications of hub nut, and brake repair.

Also check the wheel for any cracks, around the lug nut holes and all over.
