I have switched to 8.75, power lok clutch type posi, is this gear oil OK? http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=44&pcid=4 A racing buddy of mine suggested this is a really good gear oil for rearend, but I wanted to know if anyone here uses it or has a recommendation for rearend oil type/brand. thanks, Brian |

Heavy shock proof is way overkill for a slant 6 powered vehicle. It's meant for racing not long term road use. Use their regular 75W-90 GL5. |

I would use whatever you can find that is good quality 75-90 or 80-90 gear oil (Castrol, Valvoline, Mobil...), and make sure to use an additive for the suregrip, preferably the Mopar additive. That really makes a difference in chattering and longevity of the suregrip. Lou |

I went with Royal Purple (85W-140) and friction modifier. It is much quieter now, actually. http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/ite ... fgodCC4Auw I also installed a drain plug... FYI, Brian |

my slow leak in the pinion seal is now gone! I've been driving it for a few hundred miles and I see no signs of leakage whatsoever, dry as a bone. That rearend oil that I took out did seem much less viscous than the royal purple. FYI, Brian |
