What type of material is the solid front axle on the D100 made out of? Cast steel? The reason why I ask is that if I can get this second D100, I want to do a spring/axle flip and need a 1/2" steel plate welded to the axle so I can do this. There is no room to mono leaf the front springs (I checked on my '71) and bag them, so the only practical way to lower the truck would be flipping the axles to the tops of the springs. Thoughts?
