Has anyone ever seen this before? I was installing the Dutra oil pump in my "race" truck and needed to replace the gasket on the pressure relief nut. So I pulled a new pump off the shelf and robbed the gasket. But while I was looking at it I noticed quite a restricted passage on the new pump. Here is the picture of one of Doug's modified pumps and the restricted one. I would say it was an awful casting for sure. I will have to get out my die grinder and do some serious work on it if I ever want to use it.

That's why you keep using old ma mopar's pumps.. With a better flowing AL casting you can relieve some of the restriction with your die grinder on an old original one.

That cast iron Piece is too heavy anyway :-)

I don't care how much it weighs, but it has a 75% smaller hole than it should!

This is one example showing why I got into porting and "blueprinting" SL6 oil pumps...
The aftermartket pump housing casting quality is "all over the map".
