These days... you would be lucky to find a cast iron housing water pump.
A die cast alm. GMB pump, with the 8 fin impeller, is a common one we see today and those work well..

Doug, is there any way to be sure and get the 8 fin impeller? I ordered the same part number at Advance 2 times and got one 8 fin and one 6 fin one.

I have a spare used one that does not leak.....
it's a 6 blade genuine Chrysler mid 1970's.

I also keep all my cast iron SL6 WP "cores"... and also re-use any good ones.
Someday... I may find a way to rebuild the others.

As for getting an 8 fin Al. WP, I just order and then look at the pump when it arrives. I tell the counter person to get me another, if I do not get an 8 fin.
