As I have discussed previously, I have been fighting motor mounts for a couple of weeks. Well, I am glad to report that I got those puppies in there finally. Now I have another problem. In the process of putting it all back together I decided for to go ahead and install a new fuel pump, filter, line. When I went to start it, fuel just started pouring out of the side of the carb at the economizer diaphragm. So, what do I have?

1. A fuel pump that is putting out too much pressure. Is the diaphragm a weak point where excess pressure is allowed to escape?

2. Or, do you think that the pump pressure is fine? The carb just needs a rebuild. The new pressure just exposed a weak link? Faulty diaphragm?

3. Something else entirely?

Thanks for your input!

Faulty/misadjusted float and/or needle and seat in the carb.

Should I just plan on a rebuild? Aren't floats hard to find for this model?

It wouldn't hurt anything if it is done right.

I don't know. What kind of carb do you have?
