My "new" 1985 D150 with 225 and 904 auto is running but needs a drive shaft. Will a drive shaft from a similar short bed with 833 OD work with the 904?

The tailshaft on the 833 is probably longer, making the shaft too short.

I think it is a two piece drive shaft, one end might be the same

My 79' D-100 originally had a 904 but was switched to a 833OD. I had to cut down the drive shaft it make it work. It is a two piece with a carrier bearing. I dont know the original length but I had 24" cut off it.

It is a single piece driveshaft. When I got under the truck I saw that the previous owner had wired the driveshaft to the frame.

It is missing the 8-1/4 U-joint strap and bolts for the pinion. Are these the same for all 8-1/4 axles? I think a set for an 8-3/4 axle might work as well. I have some other Mopar axles in my shed.

The straps go by u-joint size. Get one that matches and you'll be good.
