So I jack it up and yank the tires off to check on the rear brakes as they were a bit noisy. I turn my head and see this on the passenger side



Go over to the driver side, and see this -



Hard to tell from the angle, but the same thing happened to the driver side just much less drastic, maybe 2-3 mm.

Any thoughts? These were new springs put in maybe 1.5 years ago give or take. They came with the front bushings installed already. The bushing didn't disintegrate - the outer shell is still attached to the bushing and centered in the hanger. It appears the whole spring slid off the outer shell. I torqued them on the ground. It's almost as if that loop in the spring was made too big.

Spring merchant said to hammer or press the spring eye closed a bit more. That's... not something I'm willing to do, seems to be a bandaid at best.

I'm thinking about poly bushings since they have a "face" to them, similar to the shackle bushings, to help locate things. I wonder if the face is thick enough to positively locate things.

I'd get the centered again and use green LocTite. Poly bushings would also do fine.

I ended up putting poly bushings in. The passenger spring eye - the gap between the end of the loop and the spring leaf was visibly larger then the other spring.

What gets me is... it took a lot of banging to get the old shell out on both sides. I was expecting the side that slipped to just come flying out. Suspension's got a ton of side force during driving.
