What is the best (and correct ) way to wire the unit to my 62 Valiant?

Can I wire the two wires from the electronic ignition direct to my coil or do I need to wire through the existing ballast resister on the firewall?

Thanks.

I have 2, both are wired directly to the coil. I have even talked to Pertronix about this and they say no problems with wiring to the coil.
Don't listen to what others say about doing it this way or that. I've been running this way for over 15 years.

My Pertronix Flamethrower has a built in resistor. I don't use a ballast any more, it works fine. If you're Pertronix has a built in resistor, then you don't need a ballast resistor.
