Where is the easiest place to find a replacement valve cover gasket for my 77 Volare 225 motor? Should I try to find a specific material that the gasket is made of?

You can find the FelPro rubber ones most anywhere. They do a good job and last a long time.

Check the valve cover around the bolt holes to make sure they aren't dented down. That creates pressure spots around the bolts and leaks between bolts. Turn the valve cover upside down, lay the flange on something solid and gently turn the dents inside out with the ball of a ball-peen hammer.
