This is my first slant 6 and lots of reading on these forums, I would appreciate some advice, directions, or mistakes for my 72 Scamp.

Here is what I'm thinking so far:
1.44 oversized exhaust valves
RV10-RDP cam from Oregon Cams
Head and bowl Porting
Dutra Duals

For intake I have not decided between the 4 bbl Offenhauser, 2 bbl Clifford, 2 or 4 bbl Aussiespeed.

All of these are somewhat to completely excessive with the other items you list. Stock 2bbl (or a Motorcraft 2100/2150 2bbl adapted to the Offenhauser 4bbl) would be good.

Be very thoughtful and do your homework before you decide to spend any money with Clifford. They have a long and ugly reputation for being a bunch of clowns; see for example here, here, here, here, and here. Much of what they sell is inaccurately described, and a lot of it is not even slightly cost-effective. The good news is that you don't need to go to Clifford to get hot rod parts for slant-6s; there are lots of other, better options. See for example Dutra Duals and header options discussed in this thread and this one, Erson custom cams, HEI ignition upgrade, Mike Jeffreys windage trays, Hurricane intakes, other exotic intakes. Hi-perf engine buildup here, high-perf parts and build info here.

I agree with Dan. Do not spend money with Clifford unless the part you want is ready to ship.

For best results you should also check and raise the compression ratio as it's never as high as advertised. And if you are only going to do oversized valves on the inlet or exhaust do the intake valves.

Thanks for the replies guys. Went with the offy 4 bbl intake, found at one at a good price. Am I correct in assuming the RV10/295 RDP cam is more for stock valves and 1bbl intake and the RV15/295 RDP for higher compression 2bbl and above intakes?

A big valve head will help a stock 225, but more cam duration and more compression should be accompanied by more carb and intake flow.

That intake will work well. I would highly recommend putting 1.70 intake valves in also (intake needs more help than exh on a Slant head) and using a Holley 350 or 500 on that intake. For perf and mileage, have found the 500 works well on a large variety of builds.

Thanks for the help all. I'll pick up a set of 1.70 intake valves. Maybe think about getting the head shaved. Really depends on if/who I can find to do the shaving. Most of the machine shops (Philly or Harrisburg area) I used to deal with have closed, moved, or retired. Guess I'll search here (forums) for a good one.
I'll be using my Edel 500 performance carb first as already have that. If it doesn't like that I'll look into the Holley 350 or 500.

Edel 500 is definitely a good choice on an Offy intake.
