this isn't about fit but price. Am I looking in the wrong places, or can I expect to pay over $200 for a new balancer. Also, just to make certain that I don't have more problems than I thought, today my crankshaft pulley just cut loose--spinning on the shaft. The whole assembly came off easily--no effect on the crankshaft key or anything., That is harmonic balancer, right?

Thanks,

Joe

Check out
Damper Dudes
Or
Damper Dr

They will rebuild your existing damper or they have rebuilt dampers for sale.

RockAuto also has the Dayco PB1001N for about the same price if you want a solid one.

They have gone up, though. I seem to recall getting one from Summit for about $65 as recently as 2014.

Thanks for the quick responses. Got a Dayco through Ebay. Hopefully it will solve all of my problems.

Make sure the timing mark is in the same place as your old damper. There were several different locations for the timing mark over the years. If is not the same you will have to make a new mark on the damper.

And at the $200 price point, you might as well go with a Romac 0224 - that part number is an SFI rated beast, made in Australia. Although that's mostly relevant if you're building a race motor.

Falcon Global are getting $235 for the Romac 0224 now. And I really question whether a power steering pulley would line up.

Looks like no one asked if he had the single forged crank damper with both bolt on pulleys or the factory 2 or 3 groove unicast damper...

Much cheaper to go with the Dayco decision and bolt on the power steering and AC pulley if needed anyway though....
