hey guys...i recently put in a 904 tranny into my dads old van...its an 87 b150 with 1 bbl carb.....i got the tranny in and also put in a B&M light truck megashifter on the floor....after going through all that work i now see that my old rod type kickdown linkage will not attatch to the kickdown lever because the B&M SHIFTER CABLE AND BRACKET ARE RIGHT IN THE WAY....therefore im having to go with a cable type kickdown that will allow me to make connection by coming from the tailshaft...my problem is im totally lost on how and where the carb end of the kickdown cable attatches to the 1 bbl carb.....i could really use a pic or two of your 1 bbl with kickdown cable and how its set up....this is the only thing holding me up...any help would be greatly appreciated

have an 87 van (which was my father's).

Unfortunately it is mostly disassembled at the moment.

I had considered (still am, really) using a cable downshift linkage for no reason other than the stock kick-down adjustment is kind of a pain, and the whole setup just has too many pivot points and slop for my liking.

My plan was to pull a cable downshift setup from a junkyard Jeep.

When considering the hookup, I have been eyeing the accelerator pedal lever, and not the carb, as a point of attachment. Possibly incorporating cable throttle control as well, if I found a suitable donor for that.

I won't be there in terms of reassembly till spring after next, I'm guessing.

In the meantime I do want to work out how the pedal will link to trans and carb when I am.
