I likely have one as well, from my 65 Belvedere. |

Thanks guys. Let me know how much. About the last think I need for my Wagon. Really want this thing back on the road. It's surprising how hard these things are to find. If I can't locate one by itself I'll probably hit the yards and see if I can find a whole early 727 or 904. I wouldn't mind having a spare 904 in the shop just in case. |

Mike, are you wanting a trans for a V-8 or a Slant six? |

I have a spare park cable housing. I also have a "core" 1965 small block cable shifted trans. FYI: A 65 trans is by itself. 64 and earlier can be used sort of interchangeably, but there are some minor changes you need to be aware of. 66 and up is completely different as far as swaping. |

Thanks Charlie I just need the cover for now. I have 2 slant 6 cars and 2 v8 cars. I am half looking for 65 "Cores" to keep around for parts or in case I get brave and try and rebuild one myself. I'd love to learn how. Just don't want to experiment on one of my working 904's. Let me know what you want for the cover. Did you see the picture I included in the first post? That's what I"m looking for. The cover that the Park cable goes into. Private message if you'd like. Have you ever tried braising aluminum? I thought about trying to fix the broken one that I have. JB Weld didnt' hold. Are you going to make it to the Wilksboro race this year. It'll sure seem strange without Ron.

If not able to find a good cover, I would go for TIG welding. I'll send you a PM. I do have several cable shift trans "cores". 1964 and 1965, V-8 and Slant six. I'll send a PM. I did want to make Wilkesborro, but it is not looking good. I doubt I will make any races this year. Wife is getting worse. |

Sorry to hear Charlie. You'll be missed at the races. We'll hope for the best for you wife. There's a great welder here in my town. I may take it to him and see what he thinks. I also thought about stick brazing it myself. It doesn't have to hold any pressure just needs to be perfectly flat. I really should see if I can find any transmissions around here. I should have a couple as backups |

Hey Mike, Did you ever find a replacement cover? If not, I have one off my 65 Belvedere A904 transmission. I have the cable (column shift) and really, the entire tailshaft. If you still need something, let me know. -Matt Attachment:

Thanks Charlie. Worked perfectly. You saved my neck. Those things are getting hard to find. I got it all together and the only thing left is the "O" ring around the cable has a very slow leak. I think it has always leaked some. Next time I take it a part I'll measure the O ring and see if I can get it to seal. I made a video of fixing it and posted it on youtube https://youtu.be/gPi5plxYFoA |
