I am rebuilding a 1965 /6 225 engine to replace my 74 /6 that is in my truck. The mechanical oil gauge hasn't worked in the five years that I have had the vehicle. The engine on the stand has a npt fitting left of the oil pump which I would access, but the engine in the car, which I would like to access now, has no fitting there. Where would there be a good place to hook up this fitting, and activate my oil pressure gauge for the first time. Thanks...............Gary

Under the oil filter, on the oil pump, there should be a factory oil pressure sender. Either remove this and replace it with the mechanical sender fitting, or place a 'T' in that spot to use both.

The tapped hole in the rear of the main oil galley is a great place to install an oil pressure gauge fitting or sending unit.
Many are not tapped so I drill and tap this location when rebuilding an engine.
