I have a 61' Valiant with auto transmission.

The park cable has a small slit/hole in the outer sheath about 2" from where it meets the transmission and oil is leaking from this hole and making a mess.

What is the best way I can seal the slit/hole? I have tried silicon seal, tape, etc, but over time the tranyy oil finds its way out!

Thanks

I have had good results using electrical "shrink tubing" with the sealer. It is made with and without sealer, make sure to get with sealer.
Remove the shift cable from the trans, and remove the adjuster wheel. Clean the cable housing with degreaser. Slide a piece of tubing over the cable housing, and heat with a heat gun/hair drier.
