I wonder about structure / rigidity.


The original ones were cast? With a dome in em... these look like they are plasma or water jetted out of plate.

There are actually 3 different thicknesses that were used over the years also.

Yep. I use the thin ones for the rocker box & oil pan.

If anything, I'm a bit worried about excess rigidity - the stock design uses the cone shape as something like a Bellville spring washer.
