I put the g.m ele. ign in my 70 dart with a dist from a 79 aspen and the car is in the shop and they say that the hold down i have isnt the correct one i got it off the car i got the dist?? whats going on what did everyone else use??

tell your mechanic to pull the hold-down off your stock distributor and use it, assuming you had one to start with.

I was really surprised to see that hold down when I pulled it from the car. all the others Ive seen have the tab with a slot but I figured it should work. or you could just swap the one from your old distributer.
