What size would the front speaker be in a 65 Valiant? The car didn’t come with a radio or speaker, I found the correct am radio but have no idea what size speaker I need to buy.
Thanks

My '66 Dart has a 6 x 9; I'm pretty sure Valiants would be the same.

Ok thank you. I'll try a 6x9

The 6x9 would be the rear package shelf speaker size.

Front may be different. It's possible a 6 x9 might work up front too, but I believe the factory size for the front was a bit off those dimensions.

I think I recall a 4" × 10" in my '65 D'Valiant, with one attaching point at each end (rather than the 4-corner fixing points of a 6 × 9) and this outfit offers a twin speaker on 4 × 10 mount bracket for the application.

I know the 4x10's were in the front of the '67 Up cars but not quite sure on those earlier models.

I pulled all of the radio stuff out of my '64 Dart. It was all full of grit and nonworking, plus when I drive that car I am not enjoying the radio.

Good Luck!

Greg

I know for a fact that I had a 6X9 mounted in the dash of my 65 valiant. It is a VERY tight fit to the wiper linkage. I believe I had it mounted to the plate that Dan mentioned in his post with a single nut on either end. I had a 4 speaker setup with all 6X9 speakers. One of the front channels was mounted in the center rear position.
