Here are a few things I'm giving away, most previously not posted:

1) ~ 1970 Slant 6 oilpan - nice shape, some surface rust, not too dirty - FREE
2) Slant 6 rear sump truck oilpan - nice shape, some surface rust, not too dirty - TAKEN
3) Stock (NEW in box - reground?) camshaft, appears to be 70s grind - TAKEN
4) Early-mid 70s Slant 6 valve cover - nice shape but greasy/dirty - TAKEN
5) Stock mechanical rocker shaft/arm assembly complete - greasy/crusty/dirty but looks good and no rust - FREE
6) A bunch of misc stock pushrods, mechanical and hydraulic - FREE
7) 225 Slant 6 crankshaft - small hub (pre-68), good core - FREE (this will go in the junk soon)
8 ) 2800 RPM high stall converter, cracked pump drive hub so needs a new one welded on by a skilled pro - FREE

Hey Lou,

I'd be interested in numbers 2,3,&4 if they aren't spoken for. There is no urgency on my end, so if I can pick them up next time we are in the same area that works for me. If you need to get rid of them sooner, I understand. I don't know if we'll see each other over the winter or not? - Maybe I can join Mark C's engine installation party? haha! I assume we aren't having a banquet in person this year again since that's been stopped for a few years now. - Thanks for the generosity!

Sounds great, Andrew. The oilpan, valve cover, and cam are all yours and I can keep them and hand them off when convenient.

That would be cool to have you here for the Mark C engine swap party! I'm guessing Feb-Apr timeframe. Others are welcome to join too. Always lots of fun...

Lou, I might be interested in the converter. I need to get an estimate on replaceing the pump drive.
PS: Is the converter for the early crank or late crank?

Sure Charlie! Late crank and trans input. It is an old GER converter, which did not have a great reputation, but this unit worked great for me until the pump drive cracked and it started leaking. Nice for street/strip.

I'll probably take it. I'll need to find a shop that can replce the pump drive. The shop I used to use, had their old machine brake, and decided not to get it repaired (cheaper to just buy replacement converters). Also need to find whether the crank in the Red 64 Valiant I got from Rob (new york) is a early or late.
I'll get back to you.

A few years ago I had PTC replace a drive and cut the converter apart to check for damage on my ATI. They charged $225 plus shipping.

Lou-I had a GER in my Buick years ago. It worked great at that time.

A few years later I bought a trans and converter from them for a buddy's Firebird. It became a nightmare.

Back in the old days (late '70's, eary '80's) Fairbanks fixed a couple of mine for about $60 ea, while I waited. Was at their door when they opened at 8 am, and left about noon, with the repaired converter. Inflation rears it's ugly head, again.

$60 in 1980 is something like $300 today. There is nothing weird (to me) about inflation in itself, it just is and we adjust as it happens. It is when inflation gets large/rapid that it gets hard to adjust and often wages/savings do not keep up. We are in one of those times now, which is sad and difficult.

How bout it.... Every time I think I have an idea what something should cost I get blown out of the water... my 32 yo son keeps reminding me things don't cost what they did in the past...
I've been to the Eastwood store more than I ever have been and between technology not being what it was (I thought centari paint would never "not" be around) the cost of supplies that are currently out there is trying hard to get me a heart attack.
