Car Model: 1965 dodge a100 p/u /6 3 spd. manual
new to the site . thnx for accepting me ! ive got a 65 a100 ./6 . alt just froze solid . i pulled a alt from my parts van . no charging . its a 67 i think . do they have a different voltage reg. ? are they compatible with my 65 volt. reg. ? should i swap reg. , and will that make it charge ? im assuming the alt. i installed is good , but not certain . thnx for any insite , bill

Welcome! 65 and 67 use the same regulator, but someone might have swapped to the later alternator (square back)? If so, you need to run the normal field wire on the vehicle to one spade terminal on the alt, and run the other spade terminal on the alt to ground on the body or engine. Not sure this is what you need, but it's possible.
