Justin.....first, we need to ask you a few questions.

Do you plan to keep the car street legal? If so, will it be a daily driver, even in colder weather?

I suggest that to get this car into the 11's, you're gonna have to put it onto a severe diet, (i.e. fiberglass front clip, doors, and bumpers. You might also want to gut the interior as much as possible, (Leave only the driver's seat, remove heater fan and core, etc.) Lightening the car equates to "free" horsepower and quicker E.T.'s.

You've got the makings for a decent 11-second car on hand. That 8.75 with a spool and 4.10's is a good start for a rear. I suggest you take a look at our articles section, and read the piece about stroker motors. You can use the rods out of that 198, transplant them into a 225 block & crank, along with 2.2L pistons, and end up with a 11:1(?) compression engine.

The body you're starting with is one of the heaviest, but it can still be done, although I think street driveability would suffer. (I am a bit conservative, so others may think otherwise.)

Roger

well the demon will be drvien very often, just on the weekend street bash, and not at all in cold weather. I plan on getting the car down to around 3000 lbs. i have plenty of stock slant six parts so the 198/225 stuff wont be a big deal, i also have an offy 4bbl intake and electronic distributor, but as for performance stuff this is it. What will i need for head mods, cam, header, ect.?? thanks a bunch, justin
