Nope, Volare is an F body. In 77 I believe A body line was stoped and the F body line replaced it.

The last 'A' bodies (Dart/Valiant) were built around December 1976.
The new 'F' bodies (Aspen/Volare') were brought out during the winter of '76/77'.

If you want to get technical, there was also a 'F' body Duster as well as some front drive 'N' body (?) models. :D

Let's not forget the sister cars....

and the 1976 model year cars rolled out to the public October 16, 1975. Final production line assembly occurs in the first 2 weeks in July. Assembly of the 1977 models starts on August 1,1976....introduction of the 1977 models occured October 1, 1976.

There is nothing technical about it Dusters are A-Bodies. The duster name has been used for other cars since the Volare Duster. the turismo had a duster model and the sundance as well. of the 3 latter none are A-Bodies nor are they the model name only a trim level.

as hinted above, there are different abodys to be aware of when buying parts.

63-66 "narrow" abody use a different k-frame then the later models.

67-76 abody vary from the 67-9 a-barracudas to the duster, demon, scamp, dart, dart sport, standard valient.
