Hey,

Well I believe vinyl tops could be ordered but those years i believe Gold Dusters had vinyl tops. As for body, Duste '73 & '74 were the same. Just as '70 - '72 were also. Just little changes were made those years such as grilles, hoods, and rear taillamps.

All Dusters had the same basic body, doors, decklid and front fenders from '70-'76. The visual differences were the three different tail light panels,'70-'71,'72,'73-'76, and side maker light change in '72. There are some non visual differences, like inner door holes for different year door panels and the door crash bar that was added in '71 (race car builders, don't overlook removing this). Even the same door 'skin' was used on all A bodys, Plymouth and Dodge '67-'76! One non visual change I haven't looked for but may be there is on the '69-'72 Duster/Valiant hood, outside they look the same and will interchange, but the '71-'72 hood may have an underframe creased area for a crumple zone in case of a head on collision. It is found on some of the other Mopar bodies from that time.

A 73+ hood is different then the 72 and previous from the outside because the grill is a totally different shape on the top... You can't interchange hoods with pre and post 73 dusters unless you swap grills (and anything else requried to mount the grills, such as the valence, etc)

Also, in 70-72 (or was it 73?) the decklid was smooth. After that, the decklid had a small raised fin down the middle, stretching from the center of the back window towards the key lock.
