I can't be too sure, but it certainly looks as if the seller of ebay item 2449626577 is producing repro dash pads for '63-'66 A-bodies.

It's a dash pad overlay. I've seen them at a show, they look pretty good for what they are. And it's a lot cheaper than getting your dash reskinned at 'Just Dashes'.

What a Rip, Redid mine in tempered masonite painted with enamel paint on both sides and all edges in the correct color with a polyurethane top coat and new foam and leather (not original) padding made to fit all for 15 bucks.

Technically this is not a padded dash in the traditional sense, factory also used masonite as standard with the foam padding as a option.

H'm. How 'bout an article on your $15 leather-and-masonite dash rework?

The factory did not use masonite at all on the '63-'66 dashboards. "Without padding" was just painted metal. Optional dashpad has a metal shell covered with polyurethane foam with a vinyl skin.

No metal dash top on my 63 definitely is masonite laminated to the metal shell, same with the back deck and appears factory. Personally I don't care for the padded shell and if I had it to do over I would eliminate this feature and reproduce the dash top in reinforced fiberglass with a couple of aftermarket gauge pods molded in.

If anyone is looking for one, I have a nice pad from a '66 Dart 270. There are a few drops of what looks to be either model glue or tree sap at the front (windshield side) edge of the pad, but they're very difficult to see once the pad is installed. Other than that it is great, no cracks whatsoever, and the vinyl is still pliable. Color is brown (car was gold). No idea what it is worth, but is someone is looking for one feel free to make me an offer.
