I've been looking for a rear window defroster for Aaron's Dart Sport. Over the holiday, we worked on the car's interior, and I noticed what appeared to be two speaker holes in the package tray metal sub-frame. I have since found out that the one on the passenger side is actually the mounting hole for the defroster fan. There was also a long slotted hole in the center of the frame, which is where the defroster vent blows air onto the window.

Here's what I would like to know. Apparently, the defroster is only a fan, with no heating element, and simply recirculates air from within the cabin.
Do they really work that well, or are they just someones great idea that turned out to be a real flop?

If you've ever had one of these in your vehicle, and have an opinion, please let me know. If you have one for sale, let me know what you want for it.

Jerry

That fan that just blows air around is a defogger, not a defroster. I have not had one in a vehicle to know how well (or poor) they work.

Some A-bodies had an optional defroster that was the wire grid right on the glass. That option is super rare. I happen to have the wiring for that setup from a 1975 model year if anyone is interested. I had the rear window to go with it but the grid was damaged to I tossed the window.
