Hello everyone, I am finally about to rid myself of points and I was wondering if the alternator needs changed. I know that both upgrades are done at the same time usually. I just wanted to know if it is a requirement of the electronic ignition to have the newer stlye of alternator. Any help would be appreciated.

You might consider a solid-state voltage regulator, to help protect the electronics a bit better. There is a replacement for the old mechanical regulators, or you can get the 70-up regulator and connectors and do some wiring, as they switch differently.
