One of the weak points with any 2-door hardtop or convertible is the excessive side panel flex when you close the door. It rebounds when the door hits the weatherstrip and despite the door closing, it feels and sounds cheap.

Has anyone tried, or given serious thought to adding internal bracing to minimize that problem? Done in the proper way, it might even provide a mounting point for shoulder belts.
