I'm in work redoing a set of large ball joint upper control arms. Have the ball joints out, but figured I'd better ask a question before removing the bushings.

Does poly UCA bushings need the outer shell from the original rubber bushings? I would think so, but should probably find out before destroying mine and having to buy and ruin a set of new rubber bushings just for the shell.

Most of the sets that I have seen require the outer shell. Most vendors suggest that you burn the rubber out of the bushing while its still in the A arms and slide the poly into the shells.
