I bought the planetary gearset out of a A998 transmission at the Carnation, WA swap meat last Sunday. Will this work in my '63 pushbutton A904? I will be running a 2.94 ratio in the 8 3/4 (also a Carnation score, $300 complete :D ) and want the lower first gear. Are there any other parts in a V-8 A998 that I should use in my super-typewriter build up?

Thanks, Mark

It's been a while, so I'm not 100%, but the cable trans uses a different input shaft/pump that might prevent use of this gearset.
The 998/999 uses a double wrap band that's stronger, but again, not sure if it will work in a cable trans.

You can change the eary P/B 904 to the late input shaft, but you cannot use the low ratio planatary gear set. The internal splines on the planatary are different then the splines on the early output shaft. The output shaft on tne P/B trans cannot be converted.
