Car Model:
'74 Plymouth Scamp /6 and the car is back from paint. The dash is out and the heater and AC boxes are right there. I removed the heater core and I think it's a replacement. I have no history on the car. Took it to a radiator shop and it tested good at about 20 psi. No leaks. Also the car had fresh antifreeze. Delimna is should I replace it anyway? It's a pain later if I have a leak. In the past I have had new ones leak and since this one tests good I am inclined to put it back in there and go with it. The radiator is slightly ugly inside but it's original equipment. I'm getting it recored if the shop thinks it needs it.

Thanks.

This is a "crap shoot" question....
If the heater core tested OK at 20 psi then it is OK.
Keep your cooling system maintained and it should last for... ??? :?

How much are new heater cores? If you buy a new one, be sure to pressure check it, I have seen new ones leak right out of the box!
