I was wondering if there is an after market piston I could use with stock 225 rods or with the 198 rods if I can find a set. I plan to use an isky cam,offy 4 barrel intake, edelbrock carb and an MSD ignition. The head will be ported and polished and have bigger valves. Also what valves would make a good oversized valve. Are there roller rockers for the slant six. Thank you.

Wo slow down and tell us what you want in your car that was a lot of stuff to throw at us. Is it a street car /street/strip car /cruser car. or a full drag car. Then some solid opining can be done. Thanks Ron Parker











It Aint Over Until I Win

I was wondering since KB-Silvolite makes hypereutectic 2.2/2.5 pistons how hard would it be for them to adjust the tooling a little to give us a decent hypereutectic piston to work with stock rods? Maybe I should call?

That would be cool, if they would do it for a reasonable cost. Surely the weight reduction alone would help!
I found some 198 rods and will be using the silvolites for my new engine.

The truck will be used for street/strip. Mostly street.

Aslo truck will have a stock rearend for now and it also has a stock 904 transmission.

That's a business, not a hobby. I'd be very surprised if they had a minimum volume of less than 1000 - that's 167 engines...

I don't think it would work on a 225 rod. They would have to move the pin hole over .325" down in the piston.

I have a 1980 D-150 Truck and have done some performance mods on it (see text below). There is a vast improvement between the stock 225 and my new performance 225, but the truck is still HEAVY compared to an A body. My next performance 225 will be in a '65 Valiant or the like. I can't wait to unleash a performance Slant Six in a light bodied car. What a HOOT that will be.
