On a 225 what is the redline or rpm max that you dont want to exceed?

i have one in my boat and im not sure.... i can go a little past 4000 rpm is this to much? or can i go further?

well keep going until it flys apart, then when you put a new motor in it, don't go that far and you should be fine.

A stock 1bbl 225 will run out of breath before redline.............

A little past 4000 is no problem.

You'll never get there if the prop is properly matched to the engine and hull combination.

i can rap mine out to 5000 but its pretty much useless past 4250,just knowing i can do highway speeds in first is kinda cool though(2.76 rear gear) :D :twisted:

In a 2400 lb drag car my stock engine would pull to about 4400 rpm and quit to much drag and friction. Never had a problem after 5000 rounds. of drag racing. Thanks Ron Parker :D
