i need help. i want to build a heavy wieght slant 6. I have a 67 plymouth valiant with a stock 225 single barrel. i want to get the car in the 11s in the 1/4. Plans already are mini tubs, a 6 point roll bar, and a 9 1/4 rearend. i am looking for suggestons. I would 400 hp or more. I will have the block bored .030 over and the head be milled .015 to boost the compration. i need suggestons on the delivery system like intake. is there any superchargers avalible or does anyone know how to build a rig to mount a supercharger to the motor. and what about fuel injection, any way to build a system. Am willing to junkyard hop. just want a powerful slant 6 to prove that it can beat a powerful small block chevy. all opinons are thankfully appricated.

There is a few quick turbo slants owned by people on here, I am sure one of them could help you out.
Search youtube.com for slant and some good stuff will come up

There was talk of a supercharger kit a while back, but I dont' know if it ever materialized. If you look in the articles section, I believe there is one about a member who did it with mainly junkard parts. Turbo's have been done numerous times, by several members of the board.

Fuel injection is defintely possible with MegaSquirt. Again, several people on the board have done it, and there are numerous threads about it, as well as an article. Not to mention that MegaSquirt has it's own user group which seems to be very knowledgable.

Do you really feel a 9-1/4" rear is neccesary? From what I understand, they are overkill, heavy, and harder to find parts for.

i dont plan on spending no more than 3000 on the motor. so i will have about 2100 after all the mechining. as of now i have a 7 1/4 rear end out of a 87 fifth ave. will that handle the power im hoping to achive? we have quite a bit of junkyards around here so finding late model parts is not a problem. how hard would it be to rig up a turbo set up and what about twin turbos. i can custom build a intake mainfold to handle a supercharger or turbo set up. i still want fuel injection, i want a multiport injection system. does any body have designs or pictures of supercharger setups, turbo setups, and fuel injection setups. so i plan how to attack this project

thanks for you help.

There only one way I know to get 400 HP out of a slant for $3000..NOS..and even with that, you may not see 400 HP with reliability.

wo wo wo slow down to have a 11 second car in the 1/4 is going to cost you a lot more than 2100 dollars. You just cannot throw parts out of a junk yard and make them work. Trust me on this. A decent built nitiros engine for 300 hp will cost about 4000 dollars if you want it to last. Then you have a heavy car. I race a 2400 lb 69 Dart with about 300 hp and it goes about 12.50 in the 1/4. My engine was built for nitrios but never used it and it cost more than that to build. That is not counting rearend nope you would destroy a 7 1/4 with 300 hp. A 8 3/4 rearend with a spool with gears will cost you about 1000 dollars and the list goes on . Thanks Ron Parker

ok, can someone tell me about turbos? I want a second opinion. will a twin turbo set up work if i get a offy dual single barrel intake and modify it for multiport fuel injection, custom build a spit exhaust to mount the turbos. Let me know any concerns or if you think that it might work or ever a good idea.

check out the intake.
