My first post to this site so suggestions on how to find info etc are welocme.

I have two questions:

In the Haynes manual it says to replace the drive plate bolts that connect it to the crankshaft if they are removed. Why? I would gladly replace but finding a 7/16 fine 1/2 inch grade 8 bolt is not easy.

I will finish rebuilding my 225 several months before the body is done and I attemp to start the engine. Other than using engine grease when I rebuild are there any other concerns or issues I should consider?

Thanks

Bruce McNulty

My 1st sugestion, is to trash the Haynes manual, and get the proper Factory Service Manual.

I re-use these bolts all the time and never had a problem. I never saw any warning to not reuse these bolts in the FSM.

Tape-off / plug any openings.
Keep the engine in a dry place and turn it over with a wrench ever month or so.
