I'm not sure they ever came with one. but would this five speed and bellhousing for 318. theoretically mate to the SS/SB bell adapters you see every now and then. The old ones used for the 727 back in the day ( or was it the 904?)

There's no reason it couldnt be made to fit with some work on the hump. The real question is would you really want to? I had an '87 Dakota with a five speed and it was definitely a truck tranny with a heavy feel and you did not want to be in a hurry to make a shift. Unless the later ones are different I would not find it suitable for use in a car.

Growing older is unavoidable but growing up is strictly optional.

Here's a couple of threads on one experience with this trans and how he swapped it in. Just an FYI.

thanks for the info. not terribly interested in that trans, but more interested in what I might do with the trans adapter I found at a swap meet a couple weekends ago. had to buy it a $50. came with the plate the motor brace, all bolts and the hub between the crank and flywheel.

The answer then is yes, you can bolt up a Dakota bell and trans to that adapter. The way to go would be the Dakota 3.9 V6/5.2 V8 bell for an AX15 bolted to a Supra R154.

Read farther down this thread for some input.

Maybe that will be more helpful.
