My motor is being balance a we speek, but the shop did not ask for my cam gear. Is that normal? Do I need to have my Cam Gear and cam shaft balanced. I have a 268 cam that I got from clifford

No they do not normally balance those. It is just the reciprocating assembly that gets balanced. They will need your balancer and flywheel though. They should need one set of rings and one rod bearing set as well. If they don't, they are estimating those weights. To do it right on an internally balanced engine the balancer and flywheel should be balanced separately from the crank. That way they can be replaced later it needed without upsetting the balance.

thanks. the shop has all the parts for the motor but the cam and cam gear
