Hi this is my first post here .I have a 1981 Dodge D150 , one of the nipples on the vacuum tree was broken off ,and stupid me decided to take it off with a wrench. You know what happened . What is the easiest way to get it out of the threads of the intake.

With a straight-flute extractor. This is one of those conical tools with sharpened ridges running along its outside length. Tap it into the broken-off vacuum tree until it's firmly wedged, apply Kroil to the threads, then carefully back the vacuum tree out of the manifold.

That depends...how many vacuum lines do you have that need to see manifold vacuum?

Those little extractors are golden. I've impressed several buddies of mine with how well they get broken studs out of stuff! (most of the time)

Thats where I thought I was going to have to go (junkyard).
I didn't know if there was something else people used instead of that.
like other vehicles trees, or something from the hardware store.
I read in the archives here that, the older vans had metal trees.
Thanks for all of the replies , I figured , check with the experts first ,before wasting alot of time. The truck was my Grandfathers ,and I am going to start doing some repairs a little at a time . Which the first is the exhaust manifold gasket , thus my first dilemma.Thats when I discovered the tree.

In a pinch you could use a couple of vacuum tees which should be available from any parts store.

Looks like you can still get a brand-new tree from the Chrysler dealer, p/n 4458 186.

Thanks I'll have to swing by my dodge dealership. I tried to look online
to find if they still sell them. Every site I went on had nothing about it , because most older parts are not in inventory anymore , mainly the parts I need . well thanks again Dan , This is a great site , I've been searching it for a while ,and it is very helpful. and has very helpful people. Ill shut up now and watch the race.
