Pulled the radiator, and installed a NOS damper. Fired the motor back up, and brought the revs up in gear, with the brakes applied. Ran through the gears, and could feel the shifts in all gears. I guess it is ok, just couldn't feel the shift with a 3,000 converter and no load. Corrected a few small leaks, and did a little wireing. Lowered it from the jack stands and backed it out of the garage, under it's own power. She saw daylite for the first time in over a year. Still have a lot to do, will keep posting.

Trailered the car to town, today, Got a front end alignment, and put it on the scale. 2,740 with me in it. Will probably be between 50 and 100 lbs heavier, when done. Real lightweight compared to my Cuda.

Actually, decieded to try and get some more weight out. The weight break between "B" and "C" is at 2700 lbs, I was thinking it was 2800. I want to be right on the split, so I can run in either class.

Should be below 2700 lbs. Removed the front bumper, and the stock seat. Installed a aluminum racing seat, I had up in the rafters. Neighbor, came over and put him to work, sanding the roof. Then we gave it a coat of rattle can primer.

Took the car up to Gainesville Raceway, last night. Worked on it till late, and did not have it quite "race ready". I live on a dirt road, and this is not a street car, so wanted to just drive it, and make sure there were no major problems. Ran the car through tech, just two minor issues, they wanted corrected, but it would not have prevented me from running. Drove it around the pits, and, did one very short "holeshot". Can't do too much in the pits, tracks "frown" on that. The engine feels pretty good. Still have a trans pan gasket leak. I am going to install a new deep pan kit, and reusable gasket, today. I am tired trying to stop the seepage. Hope to finish wireing the tach and the nitrous system, today. Then 1 more day just going over the car, to check everything. Hopefully a test and tune on Wed nite. See if it can run in the 15's on motor.

Good to know this is of interest to someone. Finally makeing good progress, after 2 years of procrasinating.

Installed the Mopar Performance deep trans pan and pickup. Used the "new" style gasket. All the gauges, tail lights, dash/gauge lites are all hooked up and working. Had to install a new light switch, for the gauges lights (bad reostat).

Ordered a new seat belt from Summit. I cannot use a 4 year old RCI lap belt, but a 31 year old stock belt is OK. What a stupid rule. Aftermarket belts can not be more then 2years old.

I enjoy following along on your progress too Charrlie. I totally agree with the seat belt rule. I have brand new (used once last year) RCI 5 point harnesses in the Duster that won't be good next year. After the race last year I removed them and put them back in the original box to preserve them. Another waste of money I guess...

Keep us posted.

Welcome to the land of lawyers Charlie. Look at the bright side, you can sell the old ones to a dirt track racer. They don't have to have theirs date coded. (at least around here)

Couldn't believe it. Went out to the shop, and had a puddle of trans fluid under the car :? . It was seeping from the drain plug. Damm nylon plug gasket. Had to tighten it so tight, I was worried about stripping it, but that cured the problem. Mounted the nitrous tank and finished the wireing. While I was under the car, on the trans leak, I noticed the driveshaft had a scrape on it from the driveshaft loop. So had to do a little relocating. Float on the secondary, stuck and had to fix that. Car is now loaded on the trailer for another trip to the alignment shop. It has a pull to the right, I am not happy with. Once that is fixed, I have a couple of holes in the floor and firewall, to be plugged, than a final look over, and off to the track, on Wed night. Also had to replace the "acorn" lugnuts on the rear wheels, for open stock style nuts, so the tech guys can verify the studs are long enough. I am running 13 inch "wagon wheels", 8 inch wide, with 22x9x13 slicks.
