To quote slantsixdan.
I recently replaced my Carb with a new one from Dan (incredible). I Replaced plugs, rotor, wires and had an oil change. My truck had sat for about two years and I need it to pass Oregon emissions so I am driving it as much as possible to clean it out and lube the system. On my way home from work yesterday, I stopped at a light and with my foot on the brake, it reved uncontrollably high. I let the engine do the work and I made it home safe. I checked the carb the next day and everything looks fine but once the throttle gets past half way, it gets stuck open. Can any one give me some specific direction?

Thanks again
Matt

Jeff,

Linkage/springs on carb that is where it sticks. Cable from gas peddle is smooth

Can you show us a clear, sharp photo of your throttle spring(s) in their installed position? It sounds like one of the springs is going overcentre and holding the throttle open; this can probably be fixed by correcting the spring's position.

Photos not necessary. Fixed.

Dan, remember me asking about the linkage connectors? One was broken and it wedged between a rod and arm. I still need the connector but it does not stick now. Thanks for opening my eyes.
