I want to do the t5 swap in my valiant. Does anyone have one of the converted bell housings they want to sell?

If not, I need to start looking for the right bellhousing to start from. Is it 75-87 4 spd overdrive bellhousings that were in aspens/volares, trucks and vans? Is that the only one that will work? Can other bells be modified easy enough?

What mods need to be done to the bellhousing to fit a T5?
Im thinking of using my 80 volare as a jump off point for a scratch built rod, but I think the t5 would be a better tranny than the stock auto in the volare...

Is that the same as an A body 833OD? And I can bolt a 5 speed to it? Where do those trannies come from? ( T-5s)

A T5 will not bolt to an A833 bellhousing. the group buy bellhousings have a plate bolted to the back with the ford T5 bolt pattern on it.

to the best of my knowledge it was Dart270 that set it up. however there are no more being made. they do show up from time to time on ebay.

you'll need alot more then the bellhousing to make this work. this is hardly a bolt in deal. you need to make or modify a tranny crossmember, you need an adapter for your crank hub for the t5 pilot bearing. clutch linkage is easy with the mcleod hyd. throwout bearing but expensive. and if your not already a stick car you'll need some clutch pedals. and you got to have a driveshaft made. make sure you know what your getting into. it add$$ up quick.
