Ok i have been having a problem with my slant starting since i got the car a year ago. After the car sits the fuel drains out of the fuel filter and thus makes it very hard to start and usually requires a few sprays of starter fluid to get it going.

First i thought it was the fuel sending unit because it had a pin hole leak in it. I changed that and no good. It actually got worse. Now tonight I changed the fuel pump and still no good. Now this wasn't a new pump but one that i had around sitting on the shelf that i used to just test out a motor once. Anyways its still no good, it actually seems to be getting worse. After a few minutes now the fuel filter is completely empty.

Any thoughts or suggestions??

Put in a new fuel pump, do the fuel line mod including a new metal fuel filter, and replace the inlet needle and seat on your carburetor.

....last night when i walked away from the car the fuel filter was empty......to day when i got home from work i looked at it and it was full. I'm not sure what to make of that but the car started right up. That really doesn't make anysense to me.
