Welcome to the board! :D

With that MPH you should be well into the low 16's. Is it bogging or spinning off the starting line? :?

I agree with Slantzilla
I Have run a best of 16.35 @82 with 3.91's, I was running 17.1@80 with 2.76's with tha same basic setup
That is 3/4 second faster and only gained 2mph

HEY GUYS/GIRLS

thanks for the quick reply i am running a 3.23-1 lsd
and it is a little hard to get out of the hole but the mid range and top end is pretty good but is does seem to bog a little when you stand on it hard so i have to kinda stage the throttle in to it i feel for the step in the carb from pri to sec on the edelbrock i stand to the kick then once the revs get to bout 2500ish i let it have ti all the shift up 2 at about 5300 ish

does any one know how to crisp up the throttle on a edelbrock...

your sheepishly

You can increase the accel pump shot by moving the tie rod from the pump to the actuator arm to a different hole. May not help much, though. Increasing initial timing while keeping full mechanical advance at 28 deg or so could help.

My general recommendation is to get a nice 3000 stall converter, which will really wake things up, and will not change much about how it drives on the street until you stand on it.

Also, the holley 500 2bbl is a great carb for a medium built 225. Better throttle response than an eddy 500-4.

Lou

Nice to see another Aussie here.

Firstly, I can't believe Slantzilla didn't recommend you use some "bottled horsepower" :D

I agree, higher stall, and maybe sticky tires(if you're having traction problems). Are you using the stock ignition system? As mentioned before, 83mph is definitely good for a quicker ET. I've run a 16.3 @ 84mph, and I've been told that speed is good for a quicker ET......??????

Are you a member of Mopar Market black sheep??

Got to get it to run right first. Adding the hose now would just mask the real problem.
