That something always comes up just before a Race?

The plate on my Offy was giving me grief. When I put it on my mill table, sure enough, it's warped.

Now where am I going to get one of these in less than a week?

Does Offenhauser even have a web site? Google sure can't find it!

I'll scoot down there Saturday Fopar. Thanks!

As far as milling it flat, the tapped holes are now misaligned. That makes the studs lean toward each other. To pull the spacer, I had to remove the studs. Milling the part wouldn't solve that.

Offyparts isn't Offenhauser's site. It's another reseller. They don't list the correct plate either.
Clifford doesn't list a plate on their web site, but then I don't think their internet storefront shows any small parts.

It is a family-owned business; they haven't got much of a switchboard, so you may have to try a few times to get through.

Thanks Dan!

I'll give them a ring today and see if I can get a part number.

I'll post it if I'm successful!

You think you've got it bad for the Medford trip? My radiator is at the shop to be rodded out, I'm ordering up radiator hoses, heater hoses, water pump, belt and coolant overflow bottle. Evidently the original spring hose clamps won't last 40 years. Most were broken right in half, but still stuck to the hose. I'm lucky I didn't loose a hose last weekend when I drove over 200 miles.

If you have a mill why don't you fly cut the plate and straighten it out?

It'll travel 7-1/2" The trouble is My vise opens to 5-1/8"
There are ways to work around that, but none of them are pretty.
I could bolt a smaller block to the bottom of the plate with the manifold screws, (Counter Sunk) and fly cut the face. I have enough travel, but would need to make two passes with my large cutter.

The biggest surface I've faced so far was 4-1/2" Square. I did that in two passes with the medium cutter. Another option would be to use a large mill, in my case a 3/4"
All lots of work.

At least the surface speed would be much faster than when we cut that steel shaft keyway. It loves making aluminum chips! :D
