The Offy has a threaded fitting for a a vacuum fitting.
I'm not using it, so I'm putting a pipe plug in it.

What is the best material to use in the aluminum intake?

I picked up a brass one, though the fitting was steel. Is there enough heat to be worried about expansion rates? Should I use Steel instead?

Probably doesn't matter, but just in case! :)

Really doesn't matter. Use what you have. Brass is good.

Brass plugs seem to come out of old aluminum castings the easiest.
If you use a steel or cast iron plug, be sure to use a little anti-seize compound on it.
