I have a '80 Volare 225 w/904 non-lock-up.Isn't this the first year for the lower 1st & 2nd gear ratios in the SL6 904 trans?I also have an el-cheapo delux torque convertor with 200+/- higher stall. Later on I will install a 4spd/OD package (w/IRON case 833OD)I got out of a wrecked Volare S.W.

Yep, your '80 has the wide-ratio gearset in the automatic trans.
